The Big Jam Sandwich – Summer Picnic in the Park is a family fun day out aimed at children under 10 and their families. The event enthuses live
main stage acts along with a number of interactive attractions to entertain the entire family.

Please note that all children aged under 2 are completely free and do not require a ticket. All children must be accompanied by an adult, entry for adults that are not associated with a child is not permitted.

We know you'll have a number of questions about the event and have listed some of the most frequently asked ones below. If you want to ask anything else then please do contact us.


Are adults required to purchase a ticket to The Big Jam Sandwich – Summer Picnic in the Park?


Yes.

 

Do Carers qualify for free entry?


Yes, please be advised a 'carer' is someone that looks after a child. DLA proof will have to be sent via the carers enquiry form and we can then issue you a carer ticket.

 

How old do I have to be to receive the Senior citizen free ticket?


A senior citizen is someone in receipt of a state pension the current age is 65.

 

My child is 2 do they get in free?


Once your child reaches 2 years old you will require a ticket, proof of age will be required.

 

Can I bring children older than 10?


Yes. The programming is aimed at children age 10 and under, however there is no reason why you couldn't bring along children older than 10 and we are happy for them to take part.

Will there be 24 hour first aid support at the festival?


Yes our first aiders and welfare tent will be there to help you at all times.

 

It's my child's birthday can they meet one of the stars for a meet & greet?


Unfortunately to be fair to everyone this isn't logistically possible.

 

What does my ticket include?


Your ticket includes MOST activities.

 

Can you give me examples of free activities?


All Main Stage shows / donkey rides / circus's / high rope courses / theatre productions / yoga sessions / main arena shows / Graffiti workshops / forest school / soft play / harp workshops / drumming workshops / craft sessions / reptile encounters / pony rides.

 

Does my ticket include parking?


There is a separate fee for parking it is important to pay this at the time of booking your ticket.

 

Can I change my ticket to another day my plans have changed?


Unfortunately, tickets are not changeable please make sure you check your calendar prior to booking a ticket. However, exceptional circumstances will be considered, please contact us for advice. 

 

I have lost my booking reference

I haven't received my tickets the festival is in 3 weeks?

What happens if it is raining?


The Big Jam Sandwich – Summer Picnic in the Park is an outdoor event, in the eventuality that the weather is inclement the event will still take place, we advise all visitors to check the weather and come prepared.

 

Do I need to bring cash?


We will not have cash machines on site, it is a good idea to bring some cash to spend at our lovely food vendors or carefully selected stores.

 

Is there a buggy park?


There is a Buggy Park - it is NOT UNDER COVER.

 

Are there child sized portions and family friendly foods available?


Yes. Our caterers will offer children sized meals and food suitable for small children.

 

Can I bring a picnic?


Yes although we have a magnificent array of food vendors offering something for every taste.

 

Can I bring my dog?


Sorry no dogs (unless a registered assistance/guide dog) or other pets are allowed.

 

Can I leave my child at the event?


No. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at the event at all times.

 

Are there activities suitable for disabled children?


Yes there will be many activities that disabled children can partake in apart from watching some of their favourite shows.

 

Is the terrain suitable for pushing a wheel chair?

Is there a baby changing area?


Yes, there will be baby changing areas spaced around the site, alongside Breast Feeding areas.

Are there any prohibited items we should not bring?


Yes, the items below are prohibited:

 

  • Dogs and other pets; except assistance/guide dogs.
  • Glass items - with the exception of baby food jars.
  • Lasers, aerosols or sharp objects; except legitimate picnic items.
  • Hobby model aircraft and drones.
  • Professional camera or visual recording equipment; small hand held personal cameras without enhanced lenses are permitted.
  • Audio recording equipment.
  • Hard balls, frisbees or similar sports items.
  • Placards or banners on poles, whistles, air horns.
  • Furniture and equipment not appropriate for picnics.
  • Naked flames, candles, fireworks, flares, flammable liquids, Chinese lanterns or any other item that may be considered unsuitable or unsafe.
  • Illegal substances.
  • Cyclists welcome but bicycles within the event areas are prohibited. Bicycles may be left at an area adjacent to the Entrances at the Owner's risk.
  • Prohibited or unsafe items will be confiscated at the Owner’s risk and without liability to the Organiser.
